Abstract

High resolution absorption spectra of the IF molecule in the $X^{1}E$ ground state have been observed with the Kitt Peak Fourier transform spectrometer in the transient products of a $F_{2}/I_{2}$ flame. Analyses of the (1,0) and (2,1) bands around $600 cm^{-1}$. and the (2,0) band around $1200 cm^{-1}$ yielded accurate molecular constants. Estimates of the IF concentration, temperature and linewidths were also made.
