Abstract
The EHE's Office of Diversity and Inclusion develops, promotes, and supports dynamic programming that encourages faculty, staff, and students to think expansively and critically about diversity, equity, and inclusion. The office engages in high-quality research, outreach, and advocacy efforts with faculty, staff, and students in the college, across the university, and in the broader community. Placing an intentional focus on social, civil, and educational rights.
Description
IMPACT. 1: The office sponsors conversations and town hall meetings on equity, diversity, justice, and inclusion. We invite faculty, staff, students, and community partners to participate in these discussions to foster intellectual engagement, to advocate for educational equity, and encourage critical action. -- 2. Faculty Fellows are nominated by department chairs to be affiliated with the office for the academic year. During the year, each fellow facilitates a presentation around her/his research and highlights its connection to diversity, equity, and/or inclusion. All sessions are open to members of the college, university, and community. -- 3. The office sponsors a Graduate Diversity Student Network (GSDN), its overall purpose is to bring graduate students across the college together to build relationships and share insights among persons whose graduate studies, research interests, career goals, and personal lives center diversity, equity, and inclusion.
