Abstract

Pure rotational transitions of $RG-N_{2}$ dimers ($RG=Ne$, Ar, Kr) have been observed in the frequency region 6 - 20 GHz with our molecular beam microwave Fourier transform spectrometer. Several a-type R-branch transitions, with both $K_a=0$ and $K_a=1$, have been measured. The analysis has yielded $^{14}N$ quadrupole coupling, rotational, and centrifugal distortion constants, from which an effective structure could be derived. Force field calculations give approximate values for the van der Waals stretching and bending frequencies. The dipole moments have been estimated from a determination of the $\pi$/2 pulse excitation condition.
