Abstract
Magneto-infrared and electron-skip-resonance (ESR) spectroscopies have been applied to trapped molecules and ions hin rare-gas matrices. Topics to be discussed may include zero-field $splittings,^{a}$ quenching of orbital angular $momentum^{b,c}$ and phonon $effects.^{d}$
