Abstract

The ozone molecule has its three fundamental, vibrations $\nu_{2} , \nu_{3}, \nu_{1}$ respectively located at $701\;cm^{-1} 1042\;cm^{-1}, 1103\;cm^{-1}$. The pure rotational spectrum of these states has been studied in the range 10 - 120 GHz using a Stark effect spectrometer. The results obtained will be summarized. In the $10\;\mu m$ region, some transitions between the $\nu_{3}$ or $\nu_{1}$ state and the ground state are very close to $CO_{2}$ laser emissions: on the one hand, the use of a $CO_{2}$ waveguide laser allows the measurement of some absorption frequencies: on the other, a $CO_{2}$ laser is used for optically pumping an ozone submillimeter laser. Some emission frequencies are given.
