Abstract
Data for the $v = 4$ level of the $b^{4}\Sigma_{g}{^{-}}$ state of $O_{2}{^{+}}$ have been unavailable from optical spectra of that ion, largely because this state is predissociated. However, It is just this feature that permits the new technique of ion predissociation spectroscopy to obtain data an the energy levels of this state. The high resolution measurements described in the preceding paper have been reduced to molecular constants and combined with the existing optical data for the $b^{4} \Sigma_{g}{^{-}} - a^{4} \Pi_{u}$ First Negative bands. The higher precision of these new data propagates into the molecular constants of the levels defined only by the optical data, thereby improving the structural constants of both electronic states. The data also provide information on dissociation energies, since the kinetic energy of the ion photofragment is measured. Improved dissociation energies of the $O_{2}{^{+}} b^{4}\Sigma_{g}{^{-}}$ and $a^{4}\Pi_{u}$ states and the $O_{2}X^{3}\Sigma_{g}{^{-}}$ state have been obtained.
