Abstract
The Michelson interferometer is finding wide and more varied application in the field of spectroscopy in the infrared. The current trend in instrumentation is towards accuracy and reproducibility on the one hand and compactness and versatility on the other. These factors and the need for greater overlap in the near infrared are considered. Some of the arrangements and apparatus (available and in preparation) will be presented for illustration.
