Abstract

Vibrational studies have been undertaken on several platinum (II) and palladium (II) cycloalkene complexes from $4000-100 cm^{-1}$. The carbon-carbon double bond stretching frequency is observed and is in agreement with previous studies on similar complexes. Other significant assignments are discussed especially with relation to the change in ring vibrations of the free-ligand upon complexation. Where possible, comparisons with other well-studied platinum(II) alkene complexes are made.
