Abstract
The combination of a 4m base length White-type cell and a commercial FTIR Spectrometer like the Bruker IFS 120 HR facilitates the observation of weak spectra with high resolution. It was previously difficult to obtain data with this combination due to the presence of air in the path of the transfer optics between the spectrometer and the White-type cell, and the unwanted water lines, for example, found in the spectra as a result. This difficulty has been resolved and the versatility of the system improved in general by construction of vacuum-enclosed transfer optics for the White-type cell. The design of the transfer optics and examples of data obtained with the new configuration will be presented.
