Abstract

Measurements of infrared absorption bands of indole and diphenylamine in the N-H stretching region under grating resolution show structure that has not been reported from prism studies. Concentration and phase dependence characteristics suggest partial explanations of the observed bands but many features point to complications not expected by analogy with hydroxyl compounds. Preliminary measurements on the aminoanthraquinones also indicate some unexpected differences as compared to the analogous hydroxyl compounds.
