Mr. John Kellis of Steubenville, Ohio, a nonagenarian who is the last remaining speaker of the old village dialect of the village of Μεστά (Mestá) on the island of Chios, has devoted years of his life to producing a three-volume work that documents the dialect, customs, and history of the village, by way of offering a window into the past of Mestá and preserving aspects of life in the village in times gone by.
