Abstract
Our infrared study of isotopic impurities in $^{12}C^{16}O_{2}$ and $^{13}C^{16}O_{2}$ crystals has been extended to include $^{12}C^{18}O_{2}$ and $N_{2}O$ The impurities. frequencies of the guest molecules shift on going from one host to the other due to a change in the guest-host excitation exchange interactions, The frequency shifts will be discussed in terms of the relaxation of the vibrational energy on an excited guest into the vibrational exciton band of the host.
