Abstract
Group theoretical techniques are applied co compute analytical expressions for several functions useful in treating systems of tetragonal symmetry. Line positions for high J values (between 20 and 30) in the $\nu_{4}$ band of $CH_{4}$, Including Coriolis interaction between $\nu_{2}$ and $\nu_{4}$, have been calculated using these functions.
