Abstract
The infrared and Raman spectra in the region 10 to $4000 cm^{-1}$ have been obtained for carbon suboxide, carbon subsulfide, and dicyanocarbene under varying conditions of temperature and phase. Vibrational fundamentals are assigned and structures are proposed. The effect of resonance on force constants and band intensities are correlated in the three cumulene-like molecules, and potential function calculations are made to explain these effects.
