Abstract
Dr. Walter Buchsieb discusses his career as a dentist, orthodontist and as a faculty member at the OSU College of Dentistry. He first describes growing up in Bexley, Ohio, and attending Ohio State as an undergraduate. He then discusses his decision to become a dentist and his dental education at Ohio State; he was a member of the first class to be trained all four years in the then-new Postle Hall. He talks about the beginning of his career, in San Francisco, and how he ended up working in Germany after that. He discusses his orthodontic training at OSU, and how he ended up having a practice in Dayton Ohio, which lasted 33 years. In addition, he talks about teaching orthodontics at OSU, including the selection process for new students. Finally, he talks about his involvement in dental associations, his hobbies, and his hopes for the future in the profession.
