Abstract

“The absorption spectrum of the $H_{2}$ molecule has been studied in the wavelength region 930-840{\AA} with a 6.8 meter grazing incidence vacuum spectrograph in combination with the helium. The Lyman and the Werner band have been extended to the their dissociation limits. Because the vibrational and rotational constant me now available fairly accurately for the v=0 to 36 levels of the $B^{1} \Sigma_{a}^{+}$ state, an attempt has been made to construct the most likely potential energy curve by the Rydberg-Klein-Rees method, which has been modified by Vanderslice et al. Numerical data on this potential energy curve will be presented.”
