We reported recently the millimeter wave spectra of BaO, SrO and $CaO1$ obtained in a low pressure gas reaction of metal vapour and an oxidant. This method has now been extended to the sulfides. Several improvements in the spectrometer have increased the sensitivity as well as the efficiency of the gas phase reaction. The performance of the present spectrometer configuration and the results obtained for Bas and SrS will be discussed.
