Abstract

Raman scattering cross sections have been measured for vibrational bands in the trace and anisotropy Raman scattering spectra of gaseous $H_{2}S_{1}$, and of several mixtures of $D_{2}S_{1}$ HDS, and $H_{2}S$. The analysis of this data in terms of the derivatives of the molecular polarizability derivatives with respect to symmetry coordinates permits the determination of the cross sections for the individual bands of the three isotopic species. These results can be used to predict the effect of vibration-rotation interaction on the intensities of lines in the pure rotational Raman spectrum of these molecules. The current status of this work will be presented.""
