Abstract

The VCD spectrum of trans-1,2-dimethylcyclopropane has been measured between 3200 and 900cm−1. As a saturated hydrocarbon C5H10 is the simplest molecule studied to date using VCD. The data will be compared with that previously reported for other trans-disubstituted cyclopropanes. A vibrational analysis and fixed partial charge results for this molecule will be discussed.
