Abstract

The microwave spectrum of 2-amino ethanol has been studied and assignments have been made for the ground and two excited vibrational states. These assignments are consistent with the gauche form, a geometry for which intramolecular hydrogen bonding is highly favored. The effect of a possible amine inversion is not observed.
