Abstract

The results of a study of the rotational spectrum of the bimolecular complex formed by HF and OCS will be presented. This molecule, like CO2HF, is nearly linear, with a rotational constant of 1307.463(3) MHz and a centrifugal distortion constant of 2.47(7) kHz. The observed dipole moment is 3.21 D. The structural and dynamical properties of this molecule and its isovalent analogs CO2HF , CO2HCl, and N2O-HF will be discussed. In particular, we will compare these systems with the corresponding argon-molecule complexes and with hydrogen halide dimers in the context of current of theories of intermolecular interactions.
