Abstract

Beam maser spectrometer systems were used to make high resolution measurements of $J=1 \leftarrow 2$, K=0 and K=1 transitions in $CH_{3}CN$ and $CH_{3}^{13}CN$. We believe that this is the first beam maser measurement of K=1 states in a symmetric top. Hydrogen and $^{13}C$ spin-rotation tensor components were measured and analyzed to give data on magnetic shielding tensor components. Precise values for quadrupole coupling strengths are also obtained. High resolution microwave spectra of $CD_{3}Br$ and $CH_{3}CCD$ were obtained using the beam maser. This data was analyzed to obtain deuterium quadrupole coupling strengths.
