Abstract
The visible absorption spectra of $CH_{2}S$ and $CD_{2}S$ have been identified and analyzed. The 6100 {\AA}-4000 {\AA} absorption represents an $^{1}A_{2} \leftarrow X^{1}A_{1}$ electronic transition; the magnetic dipole component is greater Chan in the analogous $n \rightarrow \Pi^{*}$ system of formaldehyde. Rotational analyses of selected bands of the system will be presented.
