Abstract

The spectra of the ground state and two excited vibrational states of vinyl fluoride ozonide $\bar{(CH_{2}OOCHFO)}$ have been assigned. Ground state rotational constants (MHz) are: $A = 6774.04 \pm\ 0.02, B = 3916.32 \pm 0.01$ and $C = 3122.66 \pm 0.01$. Dipole moment components are $\mu_{a} = 1.46 \pm 0.01$D, $\mu_{b} = 1.35 \pm 0.03$D, $\mu_{c} = 1.20 \pm 0.01$D and $\mu_{T} = 2.32 \pm 0.02$D. The data are consistent with a O-O half-chair conformation with the fluorine atom in an axial position. This is in contrast to previous structural studies of methylated ozonides in which methyl groups were found only at equatorial sites.
