Abstract

The aim of the project was to measure nursing knowledge and judgment regarding adolescents with Sickle Cell Disease using two published instruments. The cohort of nurses who participated scored high in knowledge of SCD and rated patients needs for analgesia and pain high whether the patient presented with no behaviors of addiction, behaviors resembling addiction, or behaviors of genuine addiction.
