Abstract

“An investigation has been made of the intensity distribution in the infrared given by a rather special echelle grating. Apparently due to a phenomenon of double reflection the efficiency of the grating is nearly constant in the first order spectrum from 2 to 23 microns, and in general the first order intensity at a given wavelength is actually superior to that in a higher order adjoining but not quite coincident with the blaze. The possibility of scanning the entire near infrared in one pass is suggested.”
