Abstract

Optical-optical double resonance, using two tunable dye lasers pumped by a nitrogen laser, has been used to characterize several hitherto unobserved gerade excited electronic states in $^{7}Li_{2}$. One laser fixed in wavelength, excited molecules from the $X^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g}$ ground state to a single level in the $A^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{u}$ state. The second laser excited Molecules in the A state to the gerade states, which include at least one $^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g}$ state and at least one $^{1}\Pi_{g}$ state. Molecular constants obtained for these states will be given.
