Abstract

There is discussion of the administrative techniques and approaches used successfully by President Fawcett during his sixteen-year tenure as President of Ohio State (1956-1983), and how he dealt with multiple constituencies on campus and beyond. These would include such as the Board of Trustees, his Cabinet, the Deans, the various Colleges and divisions, the faculty, student, townsfolk, legislators, etc. The College of Education and College of Medicine are featured. Fawcett emphasized the need for constant, careful preparation, and prided himself on his personal capacity for advance preparation.
