Abstract

Spectra of ν2 + ν5 of CH3Br and ν2 of CHD3 have been obtained at high resolution using the UTMSL five-meter Littrow system. ν2 + ν5 is in resonance with 2ν5 as discussed by Graner.1 Results of the single band analysis of ν2 + ν5 will be presented; results of the resonance analysis of the ν2 + ν5, 2ν5 system will be presented at a future date by Graner and the authors of this paper. The ν2+ν5 spectra exhibit some pressure broadening and the highest attainable resolution using a twelve-meter absorbing path is 0.035cm−1. Results of the analysis of ν2 of CHD3 will be presented. The CHD3 spectra was taken at a resolution of 0.015cm−1.
