Abstract
A totally evacuated dynamically aligned fourier transform spectrometer interfaced to a high speed vector processor has been developed for general purpose I.R. spectroscopy. Limitation of absolute frequency precision obtained with the laser reference of the interferometer will be discussed. Aspects of system noise, particularly at the level of data acquisition and processing will be treated in relation to the implementation used. Reproducibility considerations relating to the repeatability of interferometer alignment, laser frequency, source intensity and input/output optics alignment will be discussed. Spectra obtained with the system will be shown.
