Abstract

Diode laser spectroscopy has been used with velocity modulation detection to measure -300 transitions of H3O+ in the range from 1400−1850cm−1. A preliminary analysis indicates that the v4+++ and v4−−− bandheads lie at higher frequency than predicted theoretically (1). The line density in some regions of the spectrum greatly exceeds that expected from a single perpendicular inversion band. Progress in the analysis will be reported. 1. P.R. Bunker, W.P. Kraemer, V.
