Absolute intensities and pressure broadening parameters have been measured in the region of the $\nu 2$ bending fundamental of $CO2$. The measurements were made with a modified Bomem spectrophotometer and the performance of this instrument as well as the methods used for the data reduction will be briefly discussed.
