We have studied energy transfer in the $B3\Sigma u-$, state of diatomic sulfur, selectively excited to the $v\prime =4$, $N\prime =40$, $j\prime =41$ level. The cross-section for quenching of this level, by collisions with ground state S2, was found to be approximately 120 {\AA}$\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">2</mrow>}$, Quenching, as well as rotational and vibrational energy transfer, has been observed upon the addition of argon and will be described.
