Abstract

We report experiments on needed supersonic expansions probed with carefully transform limited pulses from a synchronously pumped picosecond dye laser. The investigation centers on the dynamics of the fast, ostensibly coherent, decay component of selected azabenzenes whose level structure is classified as being ""intermediate"". Emphasis is on the effects of intramolecular perturbations and ultra-low energy collisions on phase vs. population relaxation of the prepared eigenstate.
