Abstract

The infrared spectra of CO chemisorbed on oriented nickel and rhodium films has been examined in the 3000 to $200 cm^{-1}$ region. The oriented metal film was obtained by evaporation on the inside of a folded light pipe in the pressence of approximately 1 mm of argon pressure. The light pipe provided approximately twelve reflections. The spectra will be presented and discussed in the light of proposed structures. This work was supported in part by the United States Atomic Energy Commission Contract No. AT-(40-1)-2948. Hartley Eckstrom is now deceased.
