Abstract

The absorption spectrum of nitrogen has been photographed in the region of 650 to 1000 \AA with a 6.5 m vacuum spectrograph in the second order. Rotational analyses of about 25 bands belonging to the b^{\prime} $^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{u}\leftarrow X ^{1}\Sigma^{+}_{g}$ $system^{1}$ were carried out and yielded rotational constants for each vibrational state. Predissociation and various rotational perturbations will be discussed.
