Abstract

Using a pulsed ruby laser source and electronic data accumulation, the lattice mode, inclastic harmonic light scattering spectrum of NH2Cl has been measured, both at room temperature and below its phase transition temperature of −30C. The libration band, both Raman and IR forbidden, is active in this spectrum, and is observed at 375cm−1. In addition, the LO band is seen, at 280cm−1. In the low temperature, ordered phase, a strong broad band centered at 100cm−1 is found, but not identified.
