Rotational analyses of nitrogen absorption bands belonging to the $np\pi 1\Pi o\leftarrow X1\Sigma g+$ and $np\sigma 1\Sigma j+\leftarrow X1\Sigma g+$ series have been carried out. The results will be discussed. Worley’s Rydberg series which converges to the A $\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">2</mrow>}\Pi a$ state of $N2$ has been extended to $n\simeq$30 in the three vibration series with $v1$=1, 2, and 3.
