Abstract

The integrated intensities of the A2u and F1u fundamental bands in liquid C6H6 and C6D6 were determined by analysis of the anomolous dispersion curves for these liquids. The intensities for the A2a modes at 673cm−1 and 496cm−1 in C6H6 and C6D6, respectively, are 14 350$\pm110and8,600\pm$$110 cm^{-1}$$cm^{2}$/millimole. Intensity sum rules are used to test the internal consistency of these measurements and to investigate factors which effect infrared intensities in liquids.
