Abstract

arbon monosulfide has been generated in a flow through cell by the A.C. discharge of $CS_{2}$ diluted in He, using a neon-sign trans former. A tunable semiconductor diode laser has been used to observe the absorption lines. The $N_{2}O$ transitions were used as wavenumber references. Isotopic species, $^{12}C^{32}S, ^{12} C^{34}S, ^{13}C^{32}S$, and $^{12}C^{33}S$ were detected in their natural abundances. Band origins, rotational constants, and centrifugal distortion constants were determined for each isotopic species.
