Abstract

The vibrational absorption and circular dichroism spectra of 3-methy1-2-oxetanone and 4-methy1-2-oxetanone have been measured. Scaled quantum-mechanical (SQM) force fields for these molecules have been obtained. Predictions of the absorption spectra and VCD spectra, using pαβλ and Mαβλ tensors calculated ab initio at the SCF level, are compared to the experimental spectra.
