Abstract

Time delayed optical-optical double resonance is used to follow the rotational level and $\wedge$ component population in the $A^{\prime}$ 1\% state following single rotational and $\wedge$ component excitation. Fast rotational relaxation of small $\Delta J$ is accompanied by slower $\wedge$ component changing processes with weak $\Delta J$ propensities.
