A half-length booster holds a small ape, who wears an Uncle Sam hat. Text at the top reads "I Love Columbus," while script across the figure's body states "Good ol' Columbus Town." The texts are early 1960s campaign slogans from opposing candidates in the Columbus mayoral race, possibly from the Ralston Westlake and Jack Sensenbrenner campaigns. The most dominant slogan was also popularized by author James Thurber. A similar larger version is titled Proclamation [CMA 2001.034.218].
