Abstract
As part of a continuing series of studies of polycyclic hydrocarbons, we have investigated the microwave spectrum of bicyclo[3.1.0.]hex-2-ene. By analyzing, the spectra of the normal and $^{13}C$ isotopic species, sufficient data have been obtained to specify the heavy atom molecular conformation. For the normal isotopic species the rotational constants have the values $A = 6306.12 \pm 0.01, B = 4516.67 \pm 0.01$, and $C = 3208.82 \pm 0.01 MHz$. Dipole moment measurements have also been performed and these lead to the values $|\mu_{a}| = 0.166, |\mu_{b}| = 0.209$, and $|\mu_{c}| = 0.119$ Debye. The structural results of this study will be described in detail, and will be compared to those for related molecules.
