Abstract

High resolution proton magnetic resonance spectra are presented for both the gaseous and liquid states of $H_{2}O, NH_{3}, HF, HCl, HBr, HI$, and $C_{3}H_{8}$. The relatively large displacements (chemical shifts) in absolute position of the resonance, corresponding to transition from gas to liquid phase, are discussed in relation to so-called ""hydrogen bonding.""
