Abstract

High resolution proton magnetic resonance spectra are presented for both the gaseous and liquid states of H2O,NH3,HF,HCl,HBr,HI, and C3H8. The relatively large displacements (chemical shifts) in absolute position of the resonance, corresponding to transition from gas to liquid phase, are discussed in relation to so-called ""hydrogen bonding.""
