Abstract

Triple-Singlet emission spectra taken in rigid glass solutions (EPA) will be presented for indene, indole, thianaphthene, fluorene, carbazole, dibenzofuran and dibenzothiophene. Except for indene, vibrational analyses of the spectra are possible on the basis of known Raman and infrared vibrations. Four other compounds namely cyclopentadiene, pyrrole, furan and thiophene showed no corresponding emission within the limitations of the experiment. The phosphoroscope permitted observation of emission with lifetimes above 0.002 sec. The results will be discussed.
