Farben Director." Text at the bottom reads "Sentenced to 6 years for murder and slavery, and in 1964 [was] awarded [the] German Federal Republic's highest civilian award, der Bundesverdienst Kreuz." A first-state impression [CMA 2013.057.076] has hand drawn pencil text at the bottom, with Bütefisch's title smaller and closer to the lower edge of the placard.
