Abstract

Jet cooled emission spectra from ortho-, meta-, and para-xylene have been recorded using a corona excited supersonic expansion apparatus. A full vibronic analysis of the $S_{1} \rightarrow S_{0}$ transition for all three isomers has been carried out allowing for unambiguous assignments of the gas phase ground state vibrational frequencies. For modes showing progressions, anharmonicity constants are calculated.
