Abstract

The absorption spectra of $O 216$ and $O 218$ have been photographed at high resolution in the region from 1740-1900 \AA. The Schumann-Runge band system is seen from $v 1$ = 6 to the dissociation limit. The spectra of the two molecules have been analyzed and the molecular constants determined, thereby enabling a comparison of the upper states (B $3 Σ u +$ ). In addition Rydberg-Klein-Rees potential curves have been calculated and compared for the two isotopes.
