The results of a preliminary analysis of the perpendicular band $\nu 4$ of $CHD3$, are reported. The band is centered near $2251cm-1$. More than 1500 lines have been measured with a resolution better than $0.020cm-1$. Deconvolution techniques have been applied to the observed lines to give an effective resolution of $0.008cm-1$. The ground state parameters of Jennings and $Blass1$ and the excited state constants from the Raman study by Kattenberg and $Brodersen2$ have been used with a spectrum simulation program to assign a number of lines. The usual analytical techniques and resonant interaction analysis are being applied to assign more lines in this highly perturbed band.
